Hello everyone tonight I am up late, and for all of you that know me..... HELLO 10:30 PM is late. So I had a lot to do to get ready for Logan's second surgery. This one is a major and critical surgery. They are performing an osteotomy. That means they are going to open up Logan's leg and clean up the bone and reposition the hip and then pin it. So he is a little nervous, so he told me before he went to bed but I assured him things would be fine and in no time he would be back on the soccer field and on the ice playing hockey. I appreciate all the prayer lines we have out there. Prayer is greater in numbers so I thank each and every one of you that has sent a special prayer up for us. Logan's surgery is at 9:45 AM tomorrow. I will get to this post as soon as I can to let you know how everything is going.

Legg Calve Perthes Disease

I have started this blog so all of Logan's friends and family can follow his story
It all started in the Fall of 2011 and I noticed Logan was hurting when he played soccer. I thought that it was a growth spurt...yee ha, until one day I watched him walk to the bus and he was limping and his foot was turned in. Something was not right. We took him to the doctor who did a X-Ray and noticed some fluid and swelling in his hip and referred us to an orthopaedic. We then went to the Orthopaedic who stated he had Legg-Calve-Perthes, a disease that effects his hip. Off to Children's Boston we go. Dr. Kasser stated we need to rest the hip so a wheelchair was ordered, and we would see how that worked. Well it didn't. the next month we went and his hip had fractured and collasped. NOT GOOD. In order to help Logan heal he needs surgery and he will be in casts for a couple of months, then he will need another surgery and put back into casts. It will be a long road for him.
